Scentwork: pairing scent with food

Scentwork UK have a network of trainers who help people to train their dogs to search for scents, in the same way as customs & excise dogs, bomb explosive dogs, search & rescue dogs and medical detection dogs.

Dogs enjoy using their sense of smell so scentwork is an activity they are likely to take to readily. However, how do we get them interested in the required scent? One method is to pair the scent with food.

In this video, Heather Donnelly explains how to go about this. The scent used as the required scent will largely be dependent on which rules are being adhered to.
