Veterinary dental procedures
Warning: This video contains scenes of dental procedures from 5:05 to 11:55 and graphic images of tooth extractions from 7:50 to 9:50.
As part of our series on common veterinary procedures, this video takes a very close look at dentals. Veterinary surgeon, Reena Patel from Medivet (Pinner)
, explains the importance of dental hygiene and what we can do to help to protect our dog's teeth. She tells us which breeds of dog are more predisposed to having dental problems and what signs we can look out for that may indicate a problem with teeth.
The video then goes on to show an actual dental being performed. It is worth remembering that the dog is under anaesthetic for this procedure so will not be feeling any pain but this part of the video may still not be something that everyone is comfortable watching.
At the end of the video, Reena offers some advice on post operative care.
