The dog who wouldn't walk

Scooby is a 6-month-old Dalmatian whose owners are having trouble getting him to go for a walk. He can, at times, be very stubborn and refuse to move, leaving his owners feeling frustrated.

Animal behaviour specialist, Jez, explains how he would address this using Classical Conditioning, a technique whereby you reward the behaviours that you want to see, and ignore those that you don't. This issue is a perfect example of where Classical Conditioning can be used to encourage Scooby into enjoying his walks in a kind and positive way, using no more than his normal daily allowance of food.
