Rehoming a new dog
What is it like rehoming a dog from a shelter? Victoria Cannon wanted a new dog, following the death of her much loved pet and chose to rehome rather than buy a puppy. This was partly because her pure bred dog had a lot of health problems and because she didn't want to face puppy training again.
When she saw the dog she thought would be perfect, Lucy, a terrier cross, who had come in as a stray, she went straight down to Wood Green: The Animal's charity. In this video, she tells us the process she went through to obtain little Lucy.
Victoria has updated us about how Lucy is settling in, she says: "She has settled in brilliantly. Completely housetrained from the start and is fine home alone for a few hours if needs be."
