In this video, we meet the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen.
Gavin Robertson has been involved with the breed Petit Bassett Griffon Vendeen for 25 years and judges as well as shows the them.
The long name of the breed basically describes it. Petit Bassett Griffon Vendeen literally means a small, low to the ground, rough coated dog from the Vendee region of France. The rough coat was particularly useful for their original purpose of hunting in rugged, rough terrain.
They seem to be an easy going, slightly mischievous, dog that loves to be out walking but like any hound can't always be guaranteed to come back.
