Judging: 'Going over' without getting bitten
In an ideal world, all dogs entering the show ring would have been trained to be completely prepared for what to expect. This is where ringcraft classes can be beneficial. Unfortunately, there are no guarantees that all dogs will behave appropriately. For this reason, there is potential risk involved for the judge when they go over a dog to assess it.
In this video, experienced judge, David Cavill, shows us how a judge can minimise the risk of being bitten while performing this task and what a Judge is entitled to do if they feel at risk.
