How to help nervous dogs
In this video, international dog training expert, Turid Rugaas, explains how mental stimulation can be used to increase confidence in dogs. Turid shares her top tips for helping your dog become a dog that can confidently cope with the world around them.
Turid explains how mental stimulation, involving socialisation to new experiences and places, can have such a positive effect on a dog's ability to cope with life as he grows up, and also for older dogs who may not have been very well socialised in the past.
This is a great video which can help you understand how influential it can be to simply let your dog calmly explore the world and also the importance of recognising both when your dog has had enough and when he needs to be left to explore in his own time.
This video is useful for all dog owners and in particular:
- Owners of new puppies
- Owners of a new rescue or older dog
- Helping dogs that are nervous in new situations
