Watch video: Herbs to help dogs: psyllium

As part of our series of videos about herbs, alternative vet, Nick Thompson, tell us about the use of the herb Psyllium.

Psyllium husk can be ground into a powder which, when combined with liquid, produces a product which Nick describes as 'a bit like wallpaper paste'. It can actually be very beneficial in sorting out some problems associated with the workings of the gut such as constipation (problems passing stools) or diarrhea, especially in older dogs. Nick explains how and why it works.
