Flea Allergic Dermatitis (FAD)

Length: 4:34
Dermatitis is an inflammation of the skin and is often caused by an allergic reaction to something. Any animal with fleas will scratch but some animals are very sensitive to flea saliva and will scratch and groom to such an extent that they make themselves sore.

Tanya Leslie, a vet specialising in fleas, tells us what we can do to minimise the contact our pet has with fleas and also to help to alleviate the symptoms of the problem. She also emphasises the importance of checking that our dog is displaying a sensitivity to fleas and not to something else.
