Comet county's happiest dog

'Bony' an English Setter crossbreed from Hitchin, Hertfordshire, is a very happy dog - the happiest dog in Comet Country according to Naturally Happy Dogs.

The online video dog magazine ran a competition with the Comet newspaper to find the area's 'happiest dog'. Entrants were asked to send in photos of their dogs along with an explanation of why they consider their dog to be the happiest. The public were then given the chance to vote for their favourite on Naturally Happy Dogs's Facebook page.

Whilst working for an animal charity in Santorini, Greece in 2008, Nicky Visser found and fell in love with Bony. She nursed him back to health and then, when she relocated to England, brought Bony and her three other pets back with her. Many of Nicky's friends from both England and Greece voted for Bony, including the vet who helped Nicky rescue him from his former street life.

Nicky and two runners up won an annual subscription to www.naturallyhappydogs.com and Nicky and Bony were interviewed by the Naturally Happy Dogs team for this article. Our friend Mark Bryan from www.a2zoom.co.uk joined us for the filming and took some great shots of Nicky and Bony, these can be seen on our blog.
