Bloodhound Trials: Laying the trail
Bloodhound trials are events where Bloodhounds compete to see how quickly they can follow a scent trail to a willing volunteer.
The key requirements, therefore, are: a handler, a Bloodhound and someone to lay down the scent trail. Richard Turnball competes with his dog at trials but also volunteers as a runner to "walk the line" or lay down the trail.
In this video, he explains exactly how he does this and what the appeal is for him.
